Peter V. Bonanno (’93)

Peter Bonanno serves as General Counsel for J.P. Morgan Asset Management, which he joined in 2019.  In this capacity, Mr. Bonanno leads a global team of attorneys and other professionals dedicated to advising and supporting J.P. Morgan Asset Management on a broad range of legal, regulatory, and transactional matters.  He also serves as a member of the firm’s Asset Management Operating Committee.

Mr. Bonanno previously served as U.S. General Counsel (2012-2019) and Global General Counsel (2016-2019) for Allianz Global Investors.  Before that, he worked at Goldman Sachs for 13 years, most recently as a managing director and associate general counsel for Goldman Sachs Asset Management L.P. (GSAM), and as general counsel for GSAM’s US mutual fund complex. 

Before moving in-house, Mr. Bonanno was an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Dechert LLP, worked as an attorney-adviser at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, and served as a law clerk to the Hon. John A. Terry of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. 

He has a B.A. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law.
