The Confidentiality-Transparency Spectrum In International Arbitration: Where Do You Stand?

Confidentiality is often cited as one of the main benefits of arbitration as opposed to litigation. However, the need of a higher level of transparency emerged years ago, especially for treaty-based investor-State arbitration. Commercial arbitration users are also increasingly demanding more openness, predictability and certainty regarding the arbitral process and its players. This has motivated major arbitral institutions to take some transparency measures. 

On February  7, 2019,  from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Room N101, three young practitioners will discuss the Confidentiality-Transparency Spectrum.
