Frank H. Menaker Jr. Corporate Integrity Initiative

In memory of Frank H. Menaker, Jr., an alumni of the Washington College of Law, his family, friends and present and former colleagues at the LockheedMartin Corporation created an initiative to honor his legacy.  As Senior Vice President and General Counsel at LockheedMartin, Frank was committed to making ethics and integrity a priority.  Thus, this initiative will support the AUWCL Anti-Corruption Law Program, fostering greater awareness of the importance of corporate ethics and integrity.

The initiative will be devoted to the following:

Annual Lecture

  • Establishment of an annual lecture series, the Frank H. Menaker Corporate Integrity & Ethics Lecture, during the regular school year. It is intended that this lecture will serve as a public forum for a noted participant in the business or legal community to engage in a public discussion of ethical business practices. The lecture would be open to students and faculty at American University, as well as to the broader Washington, D.C. private sector, policy community and media. The funds would defray the costs of the speaker or speakers and a reception after the lecture.

Summer Program Lecture

  • Sponsorship of a keynote speaker at a luncheon to be held at the law school’s annual Anti-Corruption Law Summer Program. This speaker series will highlight topical ethical issues. The program will benefit current law students, as well as graduate students and practitioners in the U.S. and abroad.

Financial support

  • Financial assistance to accepted students to the annual Anti-Corruption Law Summer Program who demonstrate a commitment to corporate integrity and ethics and would benefit from financial support.

Those who wish to contribute to this initiative are welcome to do so. Please contact Hannah Grimm, Director of Development, at hgrimm@wcl.american.edu for assistance with your contribution. All contributions will go directly to an account established at American University restricted to the limited purpose of promoting programs in public integrity and corporate ethics. As permitted by tax laws, all gifts to American University are tax-deductible and receipts will be provided.
