WCL's First Annual International Week

The International Legal Studies Program proudly hosted the first annual
International Week at the Washington College of Law.

During the first week in October faculty, students, staff, and other members of the WCL community were invited to partake in its series of week-long events. The goal was to promote awareness of international law in an attempt to better understand what it means to live in an international community.

Events ranged from lectures and panels to luncheons and socials, all hosted by various offices within WCL. Some key events included: an opening presentation by some international law faculty on their work as international lawyers, the first annual ILSP conference on international law with a keynote lecture by Professor Adrien Wing on "International Law, Secularism, and the Islamic World", a discussion targeted at 1Ls on the importance of international law in today's practice of law and the ILSP's annual Embassy Reception hosting ambassadors and other representatives of the international community.
