Colombia-US Human Rights Teaching and Research Partnership Seeks Fall 2013 Dean's Fellow
The Center is searching for a dean’s fellow to work 10 hours per week to support the Colombia-US Human Rights Teaching and Research Partnership Program. The program seeks to strengthen the promotion and protection of human rights in Colombia through a collaboration between American University Washington College of Law, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali and Universidad Santiago de Cali in the Valle del Cauca region. The partnership works collaboratively with the Colombian partners’ to build their human rights teaching capacity and to expand and support their human infrastructure, extra- and co-curricular activities, and institutional commitment to increasing work on human rights as a way to support the advancement of human rights in Colombia. The dean’s fellow will be considered part-time staff for the Center and will provide substantive and research support for all aspects of the program.Only fluent Spanish speakers with exceptional writing skills in Spanish will be considered. Successful applicants will also have exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, a demonstrated interest in human rights, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Experience working in Colombia or on Colombian human rights issues is a plus.
