Summer 2013 Dean's Fellowship, Anti-Torture Initiative
The Center’s Anti-Torture Initiative (ATI) is seeking to fill two 20 hours per week Dean’s Fellow positions for the summer. For more information on ATI, please visit: http://www.wcl.american.edu/humright/center/projects/anti-torture.cfm
The ATI Dean’s Fellow will support the activities of the Project and the Special Rapporteur on Torture, WCL Professor Juan E. Mendez, regarding follow-up to the implementation of his thematic and country-specific recommendations through legal research, strategy planning and assisting with the preparation of country visits and report drafting. Additionally, the Dean’s fellows will support the project’s website (currently under construction) and will be responsible for implementing outreach strategies through social media to expand the impact of the Special Rapporteur’s work.
Successful applicants will have exceptional legal research and writing skills, a demonstrated interest in human rights and active use of social media. Fluency in Spanish and knowledge of Word Press are highly desirable. Early applications will be prioritized.
