Human Rights Film Series
Each fall, the Center partners with the American University Center for Media & Social Impact (CMSI) to host the annual Human Rights Film Series. The Center and CMSI screen four exceptional documentary films that not only exhibit excellence in filmmaking and explore a wide variety of human rights issues, but also showcase the power of film as an effective educative tool.
Each film screening is followed by a discussion with the filmmaker and human rights experts specializing in topics relevant to each film. Background sheets developed by the Center are also available to deepen discussion and provide additional information about key human rights issues raised in the films.
