Events

In addition to specialized courses and the Human Rights Month events, the Academy also hosts special activities for its participants. These events are open to participants enrolled in any of the Academy courses.

 

 


Orientation

A general orientation of the Program will be held for you to pick up reading materials, register to attend the different special events, and make changes in your course selection. This will be your first opportunity to meet the other participants.

Attendance is mandatory.

Snacks and Refreshments will be served.


Night Tour of the Monuments

Take a bus tour of Washington DC's most famous monuments as they light up at night. The tour will include the National Mall, the White House, The Smithsonian Museums, the US Capitol, Lincoln Memorial and maybe the FDR and Martin Luther King Jr. Memorials if we have enough time.

Visit to the Main Building of the Organization of American States


Visit the organization in charge of promoting the observance and defense of human rights in the member countries of the Inter-American System.

The tour will be conducted in both English and Spanish. The Spanish tour is mandatory for students of Sistema Interamericano.

Through financial and technical support for countries, the Inter-American Bank works to improve people's lives in Latin America and the Caribbean. Come learn about the MICI through a workshop developed by their team.
