How to Apply

  1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You must file the FAFSA to be considered for federal loan assistance. The FAFSA is filed online at List American University to receive your application information. The AU Title IV code is 001434. There is no cost to apply for federal financial aid. The completed FAFSA is necessary to receive both federal Stafford and Graduate PLUS loans.

Note: Your FAFSA information must be received by WCL before you can be considered for any aid administered by the institution.

  2. File the WCL Institutional Need-Based Aid Application (available online). It should be noted that parental information is required of all applicants for institutional aid regardless of age or dependency status. Applications without parental information are incomplete and will not be considered. Please note: The WCL Institutional Need-based Aid Application is for full-time JD students only.

    • All applications should be filed by the March 1 deadline. Do not wait until admitted to apply.

    • You must reapply each year you wish to be considered for assistance. Aid is not automatically renewed.

    • Financial aid decisions for new students are made on a rolling basis as admission decisions are made. Applicants who file by March 1 and who have satisfied all other file requirements can be assured of a decision prior to the seat deposit deadline. Upperclassmen are notified of aid decisions following receipt of spring grades and evaluation for Satisfactory Academic Progress.
