Anne Smetak is a Practitioner-in-Residence in the Community and Economic Development Law Clinic. Prior to joining WCL, she was a Friedman Fellow and Visiting Associate Professor of Clinical Law with the Neighborhood Law & Policy Clinic at the George Washington University Law School.
Her areas of expertise and scholarly interests include affordable housing, community development, and social justice lawyering. As an attorney with the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless she engaged in both litigation and transactional representation to preserve affordable housing in the District of Columbia. She also worked on a number of policy and legislative issues related to the preservation of affordable housing, including federally subsidized housing. Immediately after law school, she engaged in corporate litigation as an associate with Goodwin Procter LLP.
