Irma Isabel Rivera Ramirez



Brigard & Urrutia Partner since 2013. Graduated from the Law School of the Sergio Arboleda University and from the graduate program on Alternative Dispute Resolution, Arbitration and Conciliation from the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario University. She joined Brigard & Urrutia Attorneys on January, 1998.

In almost 20 years of professional practice she has served as counsel to national and foreign clients in complex litigation before the ordinary jurisdiction and Arbitration tribunals. She has been appointed Arbitrator and Secretary in multiple opportunities in Arbitration proceedings followed before the Arbitration and Conciliation Center of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá. She is currently listed in the A list of Arbitrators of this Center and is a member of the Litigation, Arbitration and Insolvency and Insurance and Reinsurance practice areas.

Member of the faculty of the Law School of the Sergio Arboleda University , professor of graduate programs concerning National and International Arbitration and has been invited as professor to various graduate programs concerning National and International Arbitration. She attended the first Course on International Arbitration organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá - Solventia Foundation from Spain and the CAF (Corporación Andina de Fomento) among others. Member to the Arbitration Club of Spain, the Colombian Arbitration Committee, the Latin American Arbitration Association and listed as Arbitrator by the Asociación de Exmagistrados de las Altas Cortes-Asomagìster (Former High Court Justices Association). Invited to sit as Arbitrator in various International Arbitration contests for law students in Washington, D.C. and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Mrs. Rivera has been singled out by Chambers and Partners, Best Lawyers and recently in the first Latin American edition of Legal 500.
