Maria Cecilia Nahon
Cecilia Nahón is an economist whose experience extends across the public, academic, and private sectors. Until recently, she served as Ambassador of Argentina to the US (2013-2015) and G20 Sherpa of Argentina (2012-2015). In her capacity as G20 Sherpa during four G20 presidencies (Mexico, Russia, Australia, and Turkey), she was the delegation’s top responsible for the Leaders’ Communique and pre-summit negotiations, as well as the lead Argentine negotiator on trade, debt, investment, climate change, employment, and anticorruption issues.
Ms. Nahón holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from the Latin American School of Social Sciences (Argentina), a Master of Science in Development Studies from the London School of Economics (United Kingdom), and a Bachelor in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina). She has extensive experience teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses and has published several academic articles and opinion pieces in Argentina and the US. In her role as Ambassador, as well as throughout her career, she had the opportunity to deliver speeches and give presentations in universities, think tanks, labor unions, business organizations, and international institutions, among others.
