Michael Carlson is an associate with the law firm of Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis LLP, where he practices in the areas of litigation, communications, and privacy. Before joining Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis, Mr. Carlson worked as a Senior Advisor in Microsoft’s Corporate Strategy group, where he advised Microsoft on privacy and cybersecurity matters, as well as a broad array of issues relating to emerging technologies. Prior to Microsoft, Mr. Carlson served as an attorney in the National Security Agency’s Office of General Counsel. Mr. Carlson clerked for the Honorable Deborah L. Cook of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Mr. Carlson received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was an Executive Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review and earned a certificate in business and public policy from the Wharton School. He received his B.A. magna cum laude from the University of St. Thomas.
