Jerome Nelson

Mr. Nelson is currently an Arbitrator with FINRA (formerly NASD), and also served as a Hearing Officer with NASD. Prior to joining NASD, Mr. Nelson was an Administrative Law Judge with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and served as the Chief of the Opinions Section at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He also is an Adjunct Professor at American University’s Washington College of Law, where he teaches administrative law.

He has also held positions as Assistant General Counsel, Office of Secretary of Defense; General Counsel, Nuclear Regulatory Commission; Associate General Counsel, Interstate Commerce Commission; Solicitor, Atomic Energy Commission; Assistant United States Attorney (D. C.); Staff Attorney, Criminal Division, U.S. Department of Justice; and as an Officer, Judge Advocate General’s Corps, U.S. Army.

Mr. Nelson is a graduate of Oberlin College and the Harvard Law School.
