Bio
Professor Gustavo Ribeiro teaches and writes in the areas of Evidence, Civil Procedure, and Jurisprudence. His scholarship examines the normative and empirical foundations of proof and legal reasoning, drawing on work in philosophy, psychology, and law.
He directs the Brazil–U.S. Legal and Judicial Studies Program, an initiative dedicated to studying the legal and judicial institutions of both countries. He also co-hosts Lobes and Robes, a podcast that engages with questions at the intersection of law and neuroscience.
Professor Ribeiro serves on editorial boards and regularly reviews scholarship for several national and international journals. Since 2023, he has been a member of the Executive Committee of the AALS Section on Evidence.
Before entering academia, he practiced as a litigation associate at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, and clerked for Judge William G. Young of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
