Jim Ferg-Cadima has worked on English Learner and immigrant student policy issues for fifteen years. He recently joined the Office for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education as the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy. Prior to federal service, Mr. Ferg-Cadima worked at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund's Washington, DC office, where he served as a Staff Attorney and, most recently, as Regional Counsel. Additionally, he has worked as Legislative Counsel at the ACLU of Illinois and a law clerk in the Northern District of Illinois.
Mr. Ferg-Cadima received his JD from the Washington College of Law and a BS in Psychology and Communications from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
