Katie Coniglio Skaggs
Kathryn Skaggs is an Associate at the law firm of Keller and Heckman LLP, and began practicing there in 2011. She specializes in the area of food and drug law. Ms. Skaggs advises domestic and foreign clients regarding compliance of food and food contact substances in a host of jurisdictions including the United States, the European Union, South America (particularly the MERCOSUR bloc), Canada, China, Japan, South Korea, India, New Zealand, and Australia. Ms. Skaggs also has experience with the regulation of tobacco and e-vapor products, and premarket assessments for these products. In addition, she assists the drug and medical device industries with respect to premarket review, labeling, and import issues.
In addition to serving as an adjunct faculty member at American University Washington College of Law, she also co-coaches the school's Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court team. Ms. Skaggs graduated from WCL. During law school, she served as the Senior Articles Editor for the American University Law Review and the Co-Editor-in-Chief for the Health Law and Policy Brief. Ms. Skaggs has a Masters of Public Health from Saint Louis University, and has a background in epidemiology and biostatistics, as well as chronic disease research.
