Mr. Austrian graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was a member of the Law Review, and clerked in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He has been an active litigation attorney for over thirty years, first with Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York, and then with Collier Shannon Scott (now Kelley Drye & Warren) in Washington, D.C. He has tried numerous cases, jury, non-jury and arbitration, in the areas of intellectual property, product liability, toxic torts, environmental law, intellectual property, and telecommunications. Mr. Austrian is a frequent teacher in deposition and trial practice programs at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, an Adjunct Professor at the American University Washington College of Law (“Advanced Trial Advocacy in the High-Tech Courtroom”), and is a member of the American Law Institute and the E-Discovery Advisory Board of Georgetown Law School. He publications include “Preparing Your Defense with Electronic Case Management”, For the Defense (2005).
