Anna Lavrenyuk, Co-President

 

As ELA's co-president, Anna manages the association, develops and maintains links with institutions, practitioners and academics in the field of European Law. The co-presidents also acts as a liaison with faculty members.

Anna is a third-year JD student at WCL. She currently works as a dean's fellow for the Disability Rights Law Clinic, and will be a student attorney for the Civil Advocacy Clinic in Spring 2017. Her legal interests include corporate law, international development, and space law and satellite communications.

Originally from Ukraine, Anna lived in France, where she graduated from the University of Nanterre in Business Law. She worked as a French translator for the Sustainable Development & Policy brief. She also interned in a small law firm during two consecutive summers in France.

 

Rosa Combs, Co-President

 

As ELA's co-president, Rosa manages the association, develops and maintains links with institutions, practitioners and academics in the field of European Law. The co-presidents also acts as a liaison with faculty members. Rosa is a third year evening student at WCL. She is also an IT Business Analyst for Thomson Reuters and a Business Process Manager for Requisite Capital Group LLC. Her legal interests include economic empowerment, international business, and intellectual property.

Originally from California, Rosa graduated from Howard University in 2007 with a B.A. in Communication and Philosophy. Rosa also worked as a Paralegal for three years in various law firms in the DMV area and as a federal contractor acting as an IT Business Analyst Consultant and a Product Manager for the National Credit Union Administration in Alexandria, Virginia.

 

Grette Leon-Fernandez, Secretary

 

As ELA's secretary, Grette handles the communication within ELA members and is also responsible for the logistics ELA activities. Grette is a second year student at WCL and is also a Dean's Fellow for the Geneva Program on International Organizations Law & Diplomacy. Her legal interests include human rights, environmental and health law, and international trade.

Originally from Cuba and California, Grette graduated from the University of California, Riverside, in Anthropology and History. Her previous experience include working as a Research Assistant in Mexico for the Yalahaul Project, Regional Coordinator for School on Wheels Inc., and Regional Campaigns Director for Parent Revolution.

 

Carter Stevens, Treasurer

 

As ELA's treasurer, Carter coordinates the organization's finances. Carter is a third year law student at WCL and currently works as a Research Associate at the Public International Law and Policy Group and as a Note & Comment Editor at the American University International Law Review. His legal interests include international law, public interest work, and government transparency.

While in law school, he has worked at the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and the Government Accountability Office and as a Legal Rhetoric Deans Fellow. Carter grew up in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and graduated from Colby College in 2013 with majors in History and Government and a minor in German Studies. Carter then spent a year working as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant at a high school in Wolfenbüttel, northwestern Germany.

 

Charlotte Leduey, Communication Director

 

As ELA's communication director, Charlotte is in charge of reaching out to the ELA members and students interested in Europe Law through social media and the ELA newsletter. Charlotte is a third year international JD student at WCL and also currently works as a Research Associate at the Public International Law and Policy Group and is a research assistant for Professor Paul Williams. Her legal interests include public international law, environmental and energy law.

Originally from France, Charlotte graduated from Le Havre and Nanterre-Paris 10 University in European and International Law. Charlotte also worked as a Dean's Fellow for the Sustainable Development & Policy Group at WCL and as a legal intern with Richard Spoor Inc. Attorneys in Johannesburg, South Africa.
