Civil-Military Society

WCL’s Civil-Military Society (Civ-Mil) is an official chapter of Student Veterans of America®, an organization dedicated to elevating the academic, professional, and personal development of veterans in higher education. Civ-Mil’s mission is to support WCL members who identify as military-connected, which includes those who are or have been in the military or civil service, and family, children, and friends of veterans.

Attending law school can be a challenging move, but support from fellow military-connected students can make the transition that much easier. Civ-Mil advocates for our members on campus and on Capitol Hill, supports the WCL community, and aims to foster a positive relationship between civilian society and the military.

Participation in our organization and its AUWCL events is open to all members of the AU community, regardless of background. Our events, programs, and activities are inclusive and do not restrict participation based on personal identity or characteristics, including but not limited to race, color, national origin (or shared ancestry), religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status.
