28th Anniversary
Burton D. Wechsler
National First Amendment Moot Court Competition

November 4 - 6, 2022

The Burton D. Wechsler National First Amendment Moot Court Competition is a renowned tournament that consistently attracts top competitors from across the country. This competition has presented the opportunity to argue cutting-edge cases in front of prominent judges in the nation’s capital for twenty-seven years.

Past competition problems have addressed a wide variety of First Amendment issues, including speech by public officials, municipal regulation of businesses, the rights of public-school students, and legislator-led prayer.

We are excited to announce that the Burton D. Wechsler National First Amendment Moot Court Competition will be returning to an in-person format, barring extenuating circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
