2012-2013 Faculty Teaching and Service Awards

The 2012-2013 Teaching and Service Award recipients are as follows:

Teaching Leadership Award: Professor Ann Shalleck

This award recognizes institutional leadership focused on improving the variety, quality, and rigor of teaching at the Washington College of Law. Such leadership may include, but is not limited to, the development of new courses and/or teaching materials, the revitalization of existing courses, and the mentoring of colleagues in teaching.

Innovation in Pedagogy Award: Professor Jayesh Rathod

This award recognizes exceptional creativity and innovation in instruction, including but not limited to, the use of technology.

Exemplary Teaching Award: Professor Robert Vaughn

This award recognizes outstanding teaching, as reflected by thoughtful pedagogy, commitment to student mentoring and advising, and/or the creation of an intellectually challenging classroom environment.

Adjunct Teaching Award: Professor Liz Lippy

This award recognizes outstanding teaching, thoughtful pedagogy, committed student mentoring, or exceptional creativity and innovation in instruction by a member of the adjunct faculty.

External Service Award: Macarena Saez

This award recognizes outstanding service by a faculty member outside of the law school or university. Service may include, but is not limited to, involvement with local or national organizations, professional associations and bodies, pro bono work, volunteer work, and more.

Internal Service Award: Barlow Burke

This award recognizes outstanding service by a faculty member within the law school or university. Service may include, but is not limited to, involvement with faculty committees, support to student organizations, collaborations with other offices at WCL, and more.
