Amigo has spent his entire legal career in government service. He began with the Division of Legislative Services in 1997, and then as Manager of the Finance, Government and Administration Section and Deputy Director. In 2021, he was appointed as the Division's Director. Amigo is an award-winning instructor with the National Certified Investigator Training program of the Council on Licensure, Enforcement & Regulation and has instructed in over 120 programs held throughout the US and Canada. He has also conducted numerous training sessions and is a frequent presenter at national and international regulatory and professional conferences.

Amigo is married to Marcita Mines Wade and they have three daughters, Jasmine, Amia, and Amarah. He has served as a deacon with Saint Paul's Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia, since 1991. Most recently, Amigo has recruited and hired WCL alumni for positions in his office, and is always willing to speak with students and fellow alumni!
