2006 Summer Session: Admission & Application

To apply, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Hold a law degree either from a U.S. law school accredited by the American Bar Association or from a foreign law school with equivalent standards;
- Be enrolled in a law degree program at a U.S. law school accredited by the American Bar Association or at a foreign law school with equivalent standards and have completed the first year.
Those applicants whose first language is not English must provide us with a minimum TOEFL score of 580 (7 computer base), Michigan test score of 74, or a written certificate of proficiency from an accredited language institute. This requirement is waived for applicants who hold a degree from an accredited U.S. institution.
Right to Revise
The statements and provisions contained herein are not to be regarded as an irrevocable contract between an applicant for admission to the law school or a law student at American University. The Washington College of Law reserves the right to cancel or reschedule courses as necessary.
Program Changes and Withdrawals
Applicants who have registered or paid a deposit will be informed promptly of any changes in the Summer Session's course offerings and, in the unlikely event of a course cancellation, will receive a full refund for the course (excluding the application fee of $55 which is non-refundable).

Applicants who have registered or paid a deposit should notify us immediately in case of withdrawal. Students who have registered to receive academic credit must also contact the Office of the Registrar for information about withdrawal forms and deadlines. Full refund is only available if you withdraw before the start of classes. You will receive a 50% refund if you withdraw before the second day of classes.
