Mr. Weinstein holds both his graduate and undergraduate degrees from American University. He obtained his Bachelors degree from the School of Public Affairs in 1991 followed in 1995 by a Juris Doctor.
Immediately after receiving his JD, Mr. Weinstein served as a judicial clerk in Newark, N.J. He then was appointed and served in two U.S. Department of Justice positions including service as a trial attorney for the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys and later as a special assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. He was then nominated and appointed as a Pegasus Trust Fellow with the British House of Lords in London, U.K. working along the British Lord Chancellor and various Judges throughout England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. He left government service in 2001 and currently is a partner at New Jersey based Cole Schotz where he serves as nationwide chairman of the firms White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice handling a broad range of complex Federal criminal, quasi-criminal and civil litigation matters including investigations, prosecutions and trials throughout the United States and abroad. He often serves as a commentator on TV, radio and throughout various media publications.
Along with serving on the Dean's Advisory Council, Mr. Weinstein serves on the Board of Trustee's for both the Gill St. Bernard's School in Gladstone, N.J. and as Treasurer of the U.S. District Court Historical Society.
