Transactional Negotiations

The Stephen S. Weinstein Advocacy Program offers multiple sections of a lawyer bargaining course. This course focuses on the theory, process, skills, and ethics of negotiation. Through exercises, role-plays, and discussions, students will learn to negotiate using various bargaining strategies and styles, and negotiation skills, tactics and techniques.

Students who want to hone their negotiation skills may apply to join the Transactional Negotiation Team, one of four recognized student organizations that send their members to compete in local, regional, national and international law school advocacy competitions.

In the last five years, the students of the Transactional Negotiation Team have won two championships and finished in the top eight in 3 competitions.  The Transactional Negotiation Team continues to work with the Advocacy, IP, and Business Law programs to develop strong skills to compete at regional, national, and international competitions annually.
