Rafaela Rodrigues

SJD Candidate

Rafaela Rodrigues is an SJD Candidate at American University Washington College of Law. Her doctoral research focuses on the legal and regulatory changes regarding domestic work in Brazil and the impacts within Brazilian families. Her academic interests are Family Law, Human Rights, International Public Law, Labor Law, Gender & Law, Feminist Legal Theory.

Prior to joining the Washington College of Law SJD program, Ms. Rodrigues worked as Immigrant Women Law and Policy Fellow at the National Immigrant Women Advocacy Project at the Washington College of Law. Her background includes practice in the legal field and in the public sector. In Brazil she worked in the federal government, at the Ministry of Labor and Welfare, Youth Secretariat and Ministry of Rural Development.
