Le Thi Anh Nguyet has practiced international trade law and arbitration for years in Vietnam and Japan. Nguyet represents Vietnamese-owned and foreign-owned enterprises established and operating in the countries in a variety of disputes arising out of the sale of goods, services, and construction contracts. She was granted prestigious scholarships, including SIDA of Sweden, the Monbukagakushu of Japan, and a Fulbright scholarship from the U.S. Department of State. Nguyet acted as a chief researcher for government-funded research projects in Vietnam on CISG 1980, human rights in WTO, WTO law, and Investor-State Arbitration. She also served as a local expert for the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Education, and USAID in capacity-building projects. She spoke at international conferences, workshops in Singapore, Japan, and the U.S. She obtained her Ph.D in International and Comparative Law at Nagoya University in 2010 and was a Fulbright Scholar at American University Washington College of Law in 2016. Her major publications are Investor – States Dispute Settlement in ICSID and UNCITRAL, National Security Exception in Investment Treaty Arbitration and WTO Dispute Settlement – Implication for Chinese Steel & Aluminum, Double Counting in the US Legislation against non-market economies: “as such” and “as applied” analysis, and Non-Market Economy (NME) Issues in the World Trade Organization (“WTO”) Anti-Dumping & Anti-Subsidy Law: Implication for NME.
