Dr. Xiaoqi Sun

SJD Program Graduate

 

Dr. Sun successfully completed her S.J.D. degree at American University Washington College of law. The title of her dissertation was "Follow the Money - Regulations for 'Green' Capital Flow in China."

Dr. Sun graduated from Washington College of Law in 2011 with Dual LL.M. degrees and obtained specializations in international human rights law and business & financial regulation.

She has experience working with the International Law Institute and the UN Committee Against Torture. She also worked as a Dean's Fellow for the War Crime Research Office, the Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, and the S.J.D. Program. While completing her S.J.D. degree she served as an S.J.D. Representative on the Law & Government Program Student Board.

Dr. Sun obtained her LL.B. degree from Beijing Normal University. During her undergraduate studies, she participated as an Oralist in the second runner-up team of the International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition, Mainland China round (Beijing) and entered the Moot Court Competition for the Asia Pacific Region (Hong Kong).

She was a volunteer for the Beijing Olympics Games in 2008 and was selected to serve the Special Guest Program housed in Beijing Hotel providing translations to the Olympic Committee members.

She speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
