She was assigned to the Special Victim Bureau and Human Trafficking Unit, which are responsible for investigating sex trafficking, prostitution, rape, sexual assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and kidnapping. She investigated prior criminal records and complaint sheets, conducted interviews of complainant victims, and reviewed ongoing cases in order to draft a variety of motions. She also investigated hundreds of advertisements on social media for IP addresses and aliases to help identify perpetrators for the FBI.
In addition, she assessed felonies and misdemeanors at the Early Case Assessment Bureau, where she went on the record before the Judge to present offers during arraignments. Aishwarya is passionate about applying the knowledge she gained from her experiences in the Prosecution Clinic this semester. She is excited to make a difference and pursue a career in criminal law upon graduation.
