As part of your bar application process, the Office of the Registrar must send a certification form to the bar on your behalf.
Most jurisdictions provide you, the applicant, with a law school certification form that you sign before sending it to our office to complete on your behalf.
Some jurisdictions require a letter from the Office of the Registrar verifying the degree obtained and date of degree conferral.
It is up to you to make sure our office receives the proper documents to assist you with your application.
Official transcripts: you are given an official transcript for your records upon graduation. If you need to send an official transcript as part of your bar application, order here.
If the form states that our office should send the official transcript along with the law school certification, then you don't need to order an official transcript.
Please note that due to the heavy volume of bar certificate requests, you will not be notified that your forms have been submitted. Know that we retain records that can be used later to verify that the records were sent in response to any questions from the Bar. Forms can be submitted in the office (C101), via mail, or email to email@example.com.
* Maryland Bar Applicants - WCL does not certify pre-legal education. You must request an official transcript from your undergraduate institution to be sent directly to the Maryland Bar.
