New York Bar Certificate of Attendance (prior to taking the exam)

For JD

Once you have completed your degree requirements and have applied to take the NY bar exam, the NY bar sends us this form.

In order to complete this form our office also needs the form called "Handwriting Specimen" which the NY bar sent you.

This document must be written in your usual handwriting and signed by you either witnessed by a member of our office or a notary public.

Once we have both forms, our office will send everything to the NY bar.

If you didn't receive an email from the NY bar with either of these documents, they are available for download on their website once you log in.

Processing Policy

Due to the volume of requests, certificates are processed weekly, on Thursdays. To allow us to process bar forms as efficiently as possible, we ask that you please submit your requests before 12pm on Wednesday. Requests received after 12pm will be processed the following week.

Please note that due to the heavy volume of bar certificate requests, you will not be notified that your forms have been submitted. Know that we retain records that can be used later to verify that the records were sent only in response to any questions from the Bar.
