Bar Form Information for Other Jurisdictions
Most jurisdictions provide you, the applicant, with a law school certification form that you sign before sending it to our office to complete on your behalf.
It is up to you to make sure our office receives the proper documents to assist you with your application.
If your form states that it should not be filled out until you have graduated, please submit it beginning May 1st of your graduation year so that we can prepare it in advance; we will certify and mail it as soon as you are cleared to graduate.
Forms can be submitted in the office (C101), via mail, or email (if your form does not require your original signature) to firstname.lastname@example.org.
* Maryland Bar Applicants - WCL does not certify pre-legal education. You must request an official transcript from your undergraduate institution to be sent directly to the Maryland Bar.
- Law school application - fill out the "Release Educational Records" form on our Forms page.
- A letter certifying your degree - fill out the "Request for Certification" form on our Forms page.
Due to the volume of requests, certificates are processed weekly, on Thursdays. To allow us to process bar forms as efficiently as possible, we ask that you please submit your requests before 12pm on Wednesday. Requests received after 12pm will be processed the following week.
Please note that due to the heavy volume of bar certificate requests, you will not be notified that your forms have been submitted. Know that we retain records that can be used later to verify that the records were sent only in response to any questions from the Bar.
**Law school certificates and any accompanying documents that our office must provide are sent directly to the bar unless otherwise indicated on the certificate or per the applicant's request.
