The Women and the Law Program along with the Office of Development and Alumni Relations held the law school's annual Women and the Law Leadership Award Luncheon and Ceremony this past Monday. This year, the program honored Lisa Dewey '93 and her commitment to pro bono work and access to justice.
On April 27, the law school will host the 21st Annual Sylvania Woods Conference on African Americans and the Law. AUWCL professors along with Todd Cox of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund will discuss "African Americans and the Law in a Post-Obama America." On April 28, the day before the climate march in Washington, D.C., a group of leading lawyers and academics will convene for a half-day conference to consider potential solutions to the problem of climate change and the role of lawyers and associations of lawyers in advancing those solutions.
