The Annual Peter M. Cicchino Awards for Outstanding Advocacy in the Public Interest program is held every year in honor of beloved former American University Washington College of Law Professor Peter M. Cicchino, who passed away in 2000. The program celebrates Cicchino's outstanding devotion to public interest issues in all aspects of his life, by recognizing students and alumni who have demonstrated a similar dedication in their work. An outside speaker will give an address on an aspect of public interest work to which Professor Cicchino was committed. The program also will honor WCL students who have made and completed the public interest pledge, as well as those who have received public interest-oriented, post-graduate fellowships. |
