About the Jurisprudence Collections
Despite the proliferation of international/ized tribunals during recent years established to try genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, it is extremely difficult to research this body of law. The War Crimes Research Office (WCRO) initiated a project to provide a regularly updated, searchable database of jurisprudence and key documents relating to international/ized criminal courts and tribunals. The Coalition for International Justice updated and expanded this resource for five years, distributing the jurisprudence via CD-ROM to international and local justice NGOs, media and courts. In 2006, the WCRO again assumed responsibility for the project.
This collection of jurisprudence is available to researchers, international/ized courts and tribunals and practitioners of international criminal and humanitarian law around the world. In the summer of 2007, the WCRO launched online access to the jurisprudence, thus expanding access and permitting easy downloading and searching of the documents.
PLEASE NOTE: Some of the collections, especially for the ICTY and ICTR, contain numerous files saved in .mht format. You must have Internet Explorer or Opera installed on your computer in order to properly view these files. This is likely not a problem for most Windows users, but may create difficulties for Macintosh users. Please contact us if you have any concerns about compatibility.
