Application, Eligibility & Expenses
Application: Application for admission is on a rolling basis, but interested students are strongly encouraged to apply early, as the program may fill before the deadline. Applications must be submitted by March 17, 2009, through the web portal. Each application must be accompanied by a $100 nonrefundable registration fee. Participation in the program is limited to thirty-two students. After receiving notice of acceptance, an applicant must submit an additional *$900 by April 7, 2009*. The *balance of $7,586 is due April 28, 2009*. All payments are nonrefundable, except in the event the program is unable to accommodate an accepted applicant. Persons with disabilities should contact program staff prior to submitting their application fee to learn of any potential challenges while in Turkey. The program reserves the right to cancel at any time because of insufficient enrollment or for other good cause.
Eligibility: Both full-time and part-time J.D. candidates who have completed their first year of study, candidates for graduate law degrees (LL.M. & S.J.D), and practicing lawyers are eligible to enroll in the program. Non-WCL students must include a letter of good standing by their Dean or Registrar for the application to be considered.
Expenses: The program fee of $8,586 includes tuition, housing, reading materials, health insurance (during the official dates of the program), organized tours, receptions, transportation to program activities, and six law school credits. Participants are responsible for the cost of all international travel and other personal expenses, including most meals (approximately $25 a day).
The Turkey Summer Law Program application / consent/release form is available online, with an option to pay your deposit by check or online by credit card. If you cannot access the brochure online, you may write to the Program Director to receive paper forms in the mail.
