During the program, there will be many opportunities to explore Istanbul - an exciting city straddling Asia and Europe and the crossroads of civilizations over millennia. Students will also have free time in the afternoon and evening hours to visit cultural points of interest such as the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Grand Bazaar and the Topkapi Palace, among other historical, religious and cultulral sites.
Additionally, the program will provide two fascinating weekend excursions:

By Inessa Mirkin-Underground Cisterns

By Wesley Riddle-Beath Club at Kusadasi
The second exciting weekend excursion is to Ephesus and Kusadasi on the Aegean Coast. Ephesus was for centuries one of the most important cultural and economic centers of the world. Kusadasi is a prime beach resort where students can enjoy the splendid Aegean Sea.
Students may use other weekends to undertake more ambitious excursions, to places such as Troy, Nicea, Aspendos, Petra, the Balkans, Greece and Israel. Students will also have opportunities to learn elementary or intermediate Turkish in optional language lessons, as well as to meet informally with Turkish law students..
