Wireless Infrastructure-Mode Configuration for Mac OS X

  1. Click on the airport symbol near the top right of your screen. If your laptop is configured to host an ad-hoc network the symbol will look different than the normal airport signal, the pie shaped icon will be grey with a computer on it.
  2. In the menu that appears, there will be a section headed with “Computer-to-Computer” networks. Uncheck anything if checked in this section of the menu. Check where it says “wcl” to connect to the wcl network.
  3. To completely remove your ad-hoc network, if desired:
    1. Click on the apple menu.
    2. Click on system preferences.
    3. Click on network.
    4. Highlight the network with the same name as your laptop.
    5. Click on the “-“ symbol.
    6. Click on apply now.
