Istanbul Bilgi University, Turkey


Istanbul Bilgi University was founded in 1996 as a private, non-profit institution and functions under the aegis of the Turkish Higher Education Council. With nearly 10,000 students and a faculty of 650, Bilgi offers undergraduate and graduate programs in the social sciences, economics, business, communications, the arts and law. Bilgi is a city university with 3 campuses located in central city neighborhoods, offering easy access to the social and cultural activities in Istanbul

LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION

The official language of instruction in the Law Faculty is Turkish but international students take select courses in English.

COURSES

Students will receive up to 12 credits towards their law degree. Only the credits and not the grades will transfer per ABA requirements. The acceptance of any credit or grade for any courses taken at the Bilgi Faculty of Law, including externships and other clinical offerings, is subject to determination by the WCL, Office of the Registrar. WCL students will be enrolled in regularly scheduled classes alongside fellow Bilgi students.

HOUSING AND COST OF LIVING

Both on and off campus housing is available, although most on campus housing is for undergraduate students. Please see the International Student Handbook for further information on housing and cost of living for international students.
