Karen O'Rourke, an S.J.D. candidate at American University Washington College of Law, is completing her dissertation in 2011 which is entitled “The Crossroads of Globalization, Human Rights and Rule of Law: Creating a Legal Culture of Human Rights; Designing a GeoNOMOS Model TM for the Nation State.” Ms. O'Rourke's  area of advanced legal  studies and professional practice includes: International Business Practice, Trade and Free Trade Agreements, Ethics and Human Rights, Dispute Resolution and Foreign Investment, Domestic and International Health Law, and International Labor Law and Labor Relations. Her extensive professional experience includes: Corporate Compliance Programs and Systems Integration, Institutional and Departmental Strategic Improvement Opportunities, Administrative Law, Regulatory Program Management and Internal Operations, Business Process Improvement and Change Management, and serving as an Adjunct Faculty at University and Law School  Levels. Ms. O’Rourke is a Member of the California State Bar.
