6th floor Student Lounges

Over the past thirty-five plus years, since the birth of the world’s first IVF baby, ongoing medical advances in assisted reproductive technologies have raised novel and challenging legal questions. The growing involvement of third-party participants—including sperm and egg donors and gestational surrogates—and rapidly expanding use of the ARTs by single patients and same-sex couples, adds to these challenges. In this lunchtime program, Professor Susan Crockin will provide the legal and policy context in which ART is being developed, and Dr. Eric Widra will provide an overview of the varied procedures of ART that are available today, with a particular focus on third-party reproduction.
