19th Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court Competition

Sunday, May 18, 2014

American University Washington College of Law
4801 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC
Location TBC

As the only trilingual (English, Spanish, Portuguese) moot court based on the Inter-American human rights legal system, the competition challenges student competitors and human rights practitioners alike by engaging them in cutting-edge legal discussions based on a hypothetical case. This year's competition focuses on Persons with Disabilities and International Human Rights Law. Over the course of five days, participants take part in oral arguments, network at a variety of special events, and attend meetings and conferences specific to the Inter-American system. The week culminates with a highly anticipated and well-attended final round, which is free and open to the public.

Presented by the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law
