Human Rights and the Obama Administration

Thursday and Friday, April 28-29, 2011
09:00 AM - 05:00 PM
American University Washington College of Law, Room 603
4801 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC

The election of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States signaled the promise of a sea-change in both foreign and domestic policy and a resurgence in focus around human rights issues.  This conference seeks to evaluate the first two years of the Obama Administration’s policies and actions in the field of human rights – both overseas and at home in the United States – to see how effective they have been and where the challenges lay for the future.

Presented by the Washington College of Law, the School of International Service, the School of Public Affairs, the  School of Communication and the Kogod School of Business
