14th Annual Sylvania Woods Conference on African Americans and the Law
The Obama Administration: Expectation vs. Reality One Year In

Thursday, April 1, 2010
04:00 PM - 08:00 PM

This conference honors the late Judge Woods, a 1960 alumnus, who practiced law in both the District of Columbia and Maryland, faithfully served his community and his church, and went on to sit on both the Fifth District Court of Maryland and the Circuit Court for Prince George's County. Through the inclusive participation of the community, the day's program will again address matters of law that profoundly affect African Americans and their cultures. The North Star Award, the Rising Star Award, and the Hairston Award will be presented, respectively, to an exceptional African American, a graduating student, and an African-American alumna/us. A careers component will round out the schedule of conference activities.

Presented by the Office of Diversity Services, the Black Alumni Association and the Black Law Students Association
