Student Privacy and Dignity in an Era of Fear

Panelists will describe the current state of safety and security in urban public high schools, explore the current state of the law with regard to student privacy and dignity, and will present the effects of criminalizing adolescent behavior on students and the school environment. Speakers will include experts in the fields of school security and students' rights with regard to police presence in schools Proposals for alternative approaches to safety will be explored.
