February 23

9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Please join lawyers, economists, government representatives, and academics to participate in this program in celebration of Janet Spragens' critical role in (1) recognizing the special needs of low income earners in our federal income tax process and (2) pioneering low-income taxpayer representation by academic clinics. The Spragens Federal Tax Clinic was established by Janet Spragens in 1991. A critical part of WCL's top-ranked clinical education program, the tax clinic offers representation to Washington, D.C. area low-income taxpayers having controversies with the IRS. Currently the clinical program includes 24 student attorneys per academic year studying and working under the supervision of Profs. Nancy Abramowitz and Robin Westbrook
