International Law and International Financial Institutions

The conference will investigate the international legal responsibilities of international financial institutions (IFIs) such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. Panels will be organized on the scope and substance of IFIs’ responsibilities under international law generally and with respect to environmental protection, human rights, corruption and other aspects of sustainable development; the scope of immunity for IFIs in the changing context of globalization; and the relationship between IFIs and other international law fora.
