Immigration Consequences of Criminal Convictions

March 9

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

A panel discussion from different immigration law and criminal law practitioners about the variance between criminal convictions under state law and immigration law, which bases the consequences for criminal convictions on federal code. A purpose of the discussion would be to understand how state criminal defense attorneys address criminal convictions when they have an immigrant client and also to discuss some of the difficulties of interpreting a state conviction when compared to federal law.
