Fourth Annual Grotius Lecture

The American Society of International Law (ASIL) and the WCL International Legal Studies Program are pleased to announce that Moisés Naím, editor of Foreign Policy Magazine, agreed to present the Fourth Annual Grotius Lecture. Naím previously served as director of the Projects on Economic Reforms at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He has written extensively on economic reforms, the political economy of international trade and investment, and on globalization. He is the author of eight books and numerous articles, and he is a frequent news commentator for the major broadcasting companies in the United States and abroad. Dr. Naím has previously served as Venezuelas Minister of Trade and Industry, as an Executive Director and a Senior Advisor to the President of The World Bank, and as Dean and Professor at the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración (IESA) in Caracas. He is also on the advisory boards of The World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, Transparency International, World Economic Forum, and the Brookings Institution. This is the opening event of ASILs Annual Meeting, and was attended by conference participants as well as members of the international legal community in the Washington, D.C. area.
